As the world continues in its united front to combat Covid-19 together, we are pleased to share the news that Barbados has now commenced its national vaccination programme, after receiving over 100,000 doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine this month. Indeed, I’m truly delighted that some of our team members at Sandy Lane have already received theirs...
We are also thrilled to announce that we have retained our prestigious Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star rating for the sixth consecutive year!
Although many of you might currently be unable to travel to our sunny shores, it doesn’t mean you can’t still dream of a Caribbean getaway! At Sandy Lane we continue to enhance our environmental awareness and responsibility by embarking on several sustainability projects, which include irrigation water conservation, desalination plant operation, wildlife and habitat enhancement, reef preservation, turtle protection, storm water management, landscapes debris mulching and various types of recycling.
The two most recent projects our Golf Turf and Landscapes team has embarked on are the planting of various tropical fruit trees and honey beekeeping. Over 60 fruit trees have been planted on The Green Monkey golf course since 2011 and Colin Holligan, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, a trained and certified beekeeper, takes pride in ensuring these projects contribute significantly to the biodiversity of the property, and indeed the island...
